A new adventure

I admire those people who have fancy handwriting.  All the more those fun and swirly quotes using either pen, brush or chalk.  Ahhh that is called modern calligraphy, so finally after several attempts to squeeze in my busy? schedule I managed to sign up for a class.

And it was worth it!

I signed up from Katrina Alana.  I liked the materials they provided, very detailed!

She's very knowledgeable in this field and quite experienced so you get to know tips during the class.  The class was hands-on and she's helpful in doing a demo.

I noticed that most of the attendees are way better than expected, I feel like a prep student as compared to their writing. Yaiks!

Anyway, I try to practice every other day since I attended the class.  As clumsy as I am, I spilled all the remaining ink from the class. Argggh.  I do have an ink from Daiso which I have yet to try.

I realized that I'm not into slant writing, so I would pursue at what I'm comfortable with.  I'm a slow learner but I think practice can improve my handwriting. Aja!

It's beginning to look a lot like

Christmas!

I was kitting stuff for a new mini album I'm planning to make when I saw scraps of Christmas stuff.  So in less than 5 minutes I made my first Christmas card. =)

Let's have some snack!

I did procastinate on the dollhouse and I've been busy lately.  Plus Christmas is coming! Panic mode again!

Anyway I did finish this quick and simple DIY dining table and chairs for my mini Lalaloopsy.
All materials except the paint are from Daiso.

Chairs are square blocks of wood that I painted with silver, I added cushion using scraps of fabric and wool as padding. The table is a wood coaster, I used the same square block as a stand for the table. The small table centerpiece lace is a sticker embellishment.  And tadah!

Care for some tea?

I managed to squeeze in some time to do a mini album too.  This is for the bridal shower we had last weekend.  Size is approximately 4" x 5" just the right size to fit instax photos :)

I have a few more simple DIY miniatures that I finished as accessories for my dollhouse/diorama.  Hopefully I can find time to finish all the projects running around the creative side of my brain.
Have a creative week ahead!!!

Miniature DIY

My Lalaloopsy dollhouse was a hit and frankly I want my own LOL.  I started to do another version but this time the casing is a mooncake box instead of a lunchbox.  Obviously the season of mooncake just passed so there are pretty boxes everywhere.  But I didn't get any this year so I used the old boxes from last year and went ahead.

The making of mini shelves/furnitures.  The accessible paint is still my Martha Stewart silver metallic not sure if the color will blend in the house.

Here is my bed, again made of sponges, fabric, felt, trims, beads and buttons.

I'm testing how it would look like in the bedroom, not bad, but I don't like the metallic color.

While I procastinate on the dollhouse project, I was thinking/executing another project -- a toy store diorama!

Here's my first attempt for the display shelves

Here's Pete with the mini toys!

This diorama is progressing now instead of the dollhouse, so let's see in the coming days =)

On a side note I recently had an inventory of my mini Lalas, to date I have a total of 86!  There are new Target exclusives coming in so I will definitely go to Ebay for this, and for the remaining series I'll try my luck back home.  Yep I'm coming home again! Vacation time!
