* constipated maybe due to stress?
* stressed some more due to "one of those" doctor (yeah I surfed the net to sympathize with myself LOL, read on his experience, I roughly had the same conversation)
* stomach suddenly went haywire by the medicines *alamah!... sabotage?*
* got a call from the office and an sms from my super with opposing instructions *duh*
* my camera instax conked out on me - just realized I did not register the warranty waaaah
* my feet aches again
* still few more gifts to buy, and also the ingredients for my biko and kutsinta
* raining sporadically.. hate the rainy season... did I mention I hate rain
* room is in chaos... papers, tissues, scraps, plastics, batteries and falling hair on the floor, yucks!

Is it really 2 more days to go?

It's our third Christmas without Mama. I'm in Singapore while Dad is in Manila. Thankfully my brother will be there to celebrate with Dad. Life for us have been difficult and shaky. Two weddings and a party

We had 2 choir duties for the weddings this day, 10am and 2:30pm respectively. It was a bit shaky in the morning but we pulled off anyway. There was a slight personal setback due to a phone call that I received that stressed me out. But life is like that.
Later in the evening I went to our office Christmas party for a night cap.

Simbang Gabi

I can't remember if I ever completed one but I do attend the Simbang Gabi when I was back in Manila. But in my 11 years here in Singapore I never even attempted to attend a single one. Maybe because I knew I wouldn't be able to complete the novena which takes 9 days (nights) and is held in different churches. Tonight was my first time hopefully not my last one. As expected the church was crowded and I was a bit distracted with all the buzzing noise while we are all eagerly waiting for the mass to start. It's comforting to hear Tagalog church songs, it's uplifting but there was a pinch in my heart knowing that I'm away from home. After the mass I was lucky to bump into Father Kamil who gladly posed with me for a photo.There was free porridge which is bland but still soothing to my hungy belly =)
Tonight my soul was nourished. Thank you Lord for all the blessings.

Clicking 2011

This year is a record holder for me. I got tons of rebates and rewards from my credit cards coz this year my shopaholic soul was unleashed. Aside from bags and shoes ( which is a default for any shopaholic diva), my biggest splurge of the year was on cameras.
I purchased 4 toy cameras with all the extra accessories, 1 instant camera and my latest purchase a DSLR!

Finally I bought the Olympus Pen mini, a DSLR that is not only right on my budget but fashionable as well. Hoping to go places with this baby very soon!

Jolly-jelly

It's a post birthday dinner treat by miss friendship V at Din Tai Fung in Somerset 313. Though it's only Tuesday, the place was a bit crowded since this place is popular because of it's signature dish, the juicy succulent dumplings.
We chatted like the usual and take lots of photos in between our meal. We are just halfway to our meal when the waiter served the dessert ... well almost. He accidentally spilled the dessert (almond jelly with iced caramel syrup) to our bags. Both of us immediately grabbed our bags, I was worried about my camera, while miss V was worried about her Coach bag, at least she was holding on to her camera. The exterior of my bag was messed up, my instax camera was spilled with the jelly (thank God the lens were shut), thankfully my new camera was spared. (I'll write about my new camera later on *winks*) One side of Miss V's bag was messed by the caramel syrup so you can just imagine her reaction LOL. The damage was done but I guess my mood wasn't that bad that day, or maybe because I'm not carrying my Coach or Kate Spade bag =), I laughed off the incident to cool her down. The manager offered to clean and dry the bag for her and our desserts were free of charge. We were not able to finish our meal though but the jelly desserts were yummy.
Since we're at Orchard we strolled along the sidewalk to take more photos of the Christmas decorations.
It was an overall memorable and jolly-jelly-filled bonding. =)))

Crowning glory

I've been through a lot of stress lately so my hair takes its toll. Flaky and oily scalp and unending hair fall really frustrates me adding more stress. So after almost 6 months I'm back to my salon for a treatment and hair mask. A hair spa is really relaxing and I really like the way my stylist blow-dried my hair.
Another check on my to-do-before-Christmas list! =)

Unfortunately not for me. Due to unforseen circumstances I can't come home this Christmas, good thing is my my brother will. His family will be celebrating Christmas with Dad so he would be less lonely. I'm sending them a small package of Christmas gifts as a surprise. *hopefully they don't read this blog LOL*
If there's one thing that I enjoy and stresses me at the same time during the holiday season, it's gift hunting! So I'm glad to find these Uniqlo t-shirts with mickey print, cuteness! I hope they will like them, and I'm kind of hoping they will take a group photo wearing those ;)

Gadget binge

Who doesn't hunger for hi-tech gadgets in this high-tech world we live in?
I'm not a fan of iPad, but when iPad 2 came out I was craving to get one. But the hype died down in less than a month, thankfully!
Now that my 3 year old Epson Photo printer is dying, I've been contemplating on my options. Should I get a similar one? maybe something that can accommodate 12x12 pages? like this?

Comfort Food!

I woke up with a pesky headache, didn't sleep well because of the Apple Cranberry Tea I drank last night. Late at the office as usual and was welcomed with a single email that ate up my time for the whole morning. Blame it on the slow server connection, which sadly is a known issue that never got resolved. It's time to compensate the morning bleah with comfort food for lunch!

"Laundry Day"

It's wet season again for sunny Singapore. Though we had a bit of sunshine this morning, come lunch time the skies are gray again. I think most of the residents' dilemma this season is how to dry the laundry. This is only my first batch for around 6 batches of dirty laundry from my overflowing basket. When will I ever finish? *sigh*

First of all I was surprised that the very talented Drew was eliminated from The XFactor? Why oh why? It's like a dejavu of the local show The Protege (format was copied from XFactor) wherein the talented Lovely was also eliminated, but eventually came back as a wild card. Hopefully Xfactor will also have a wild card and Drew should be the one.

OK now back to December Daily...
My entry for today would be a recipe =)
Today I want to try out my cooking skills preparing a favorite local delight... Biko!

"Biko is a Filipino rice cake made from sticky rice (locally known as malagkit), coconut milk, and brown sugar. Like other rice cakes, this is referred to as kakanin (derived from the word “kanin” which means rice) and is often eaten as dessert or meryenda (mid-afternoon snack). " - Panlasang Pinoy

I will be using Panlasang Pinoy's recipe =)

And since I'm at it, I'll be pushing myself to a higher level LOL, I will be adding caramel topping using the recipe from Pinoyrecipe.net

If I succeed on this recipe, this will definitely be one of the desserts for our Noche Buena!

I wasn't paying attention and was too excited to cook that I missed out one of the instructions. To cook the rice with less water so the mixture was a bit soggy. Nevertheless it was tasteful and my flatmates are quite satisfied, I just don't like the photos I took so no photo for this day ;) ... and yes I'm going to do it again!

I've tried last year but it didn't materialize, am trying again this year, let's see how it goes ;)

Since I've been stressed and sick in the past few days I wasn't able to drop by at my LSS to shop for materials for my December Daily. I'll just see what I can do with what I have from my stash.

I've read about one idea to write in your blog to serve as your December Daily. Just like hitting two birds with one stone. Most of the scrappers are caught up with Facebook and Twitter that they are too busy to post in their blogs. I've been one of them the past year. But now I see the greater value of blogging than FB-ing, maybe it's just me but FB tired me out.
Anyway you can also check out Ali's inspiration ideas for your December Daily if you intend to pursue this project this year. Good luck to us!

Since I'm warming up, below is my initial entry, let's just see what I will include in the page, a photo? or something else? I will update later, I hope ;)

6:58 AM eagerly waiting for my alarm which is scheduled 7AM and 7:10AM (snooze can't fool me LOL)

10:00 AM asked by my colleague to proof read with her a rather long manual, almost lost my voice there
11:40 AM manager went off for a training at our branch office, wooohoooo happy day again

Baptism Party

Under the weather again mainly due to unpredictable climate we have nowadays.
Anyway, on with the party last week.
It was a pink, yellow and blue theme party. I made a lay-out for Baby Reese using an A4 clear acrylic sheet. Since the trend nowadays is the paper accordion medallion or paper rosettes, I added some accents to the page.

The banner was also made from large paper medallions using doilies as centers.

And here's the cutie cake made by Jinky.

A paper medallion center piece, the medallion stick was layered with cupcake liners to add texture and color. The chupa chups layered with hand-cut paper flower shapes were added as accents.

The cake pops and marshmallows were decorated with small pennants as accents.

I was short in time so the decorations were very minimal and simple.

First of all I would like to thank you all for the love and prayers sent to my Dad. Thank God, his biopsy result was negative. He's now resting at home and hopefully he will be completely healthy again in no time. We're both looking forward for him to be back here again in Singapore.

Last Saturday was the baptism of our newest member in the DGC (choir) family, Baby Reese. My friend Jinky was again assigned to prepare a cake for the occasion. I will show all the details of the event on my next post.
Before scrapbooking I have the inclination to try out on baking. Back home before I came here in Singapore I used to bake cookies and muffins. I tried making brownies a couple of times but making cakes is definitely out of my league.

Anyway it breaks our heart to see all the cake scraps from Jinky's cakes to go to waste so we decided to make some cake pops!

I've been drooling over Bakerella's cake pops ever since Abiik introduced me to this site. So here's my first try! Don't ask me about the cake recipe, Jinky can help you with that. *winks*
I went to Phoon Huat hoping I can buy a ready made butter cream frosting to mix with the cake scraps to help them hold together. But I couldn't find one so I googled a simple recipe:
Butter, milk, vanilla extract and powdered sugar

I used Wilton candy melts to cover the cake pops and some colored candy sprinkle. Yummy!

I was so excited to finish the cake pops so the size was ginormous, looks like meat balls LOL next time I'll make it smaller ;)

High hopes

I came back in Singapore last Sunday with a very heavy heart. My Dad is back home but still bedridden with oxygen. He's conscious but we're still awaiting the test results. This morning I just received a call from my sis-in-law and she told me that my Dad's health is improving. Hopefully the test results will be a good news and soon my Dad will be back on his feet. Thank you all for the sympathy and prayers.

I'm struggling to concentrate on my work since I've been away for more than a week. Apart from that I'm keeping myself busy preparing some decorations for a baptism of my friend's baby this coming Saturday.

Stay healthy and enjoy the rest of the week.

Sudden turn

I need to come home because my Dad is at the hospital. He has pneumonia and they found cyst in his lungs. He's still under observation and we're awaiting for the results of the tests. I'm still shaken with the sudden turn of events... I'm keeping my faith... prayers can move mountains, please say a prayer for my Dad.

I came, I saw...

I Smurfed!
It's not just a moon, it's a blue moon, once in a blue moon...
Our white and blue themed party last Saturday night was a total blast!

Less than two weeks of planning and preparation, but the tension and hardwork was worth of all the fun and praises we got :)
As always I'm in charge of the decorations, it's a Smurf theme but the celebrant wanted pompoms (the ones I made for my friends' wedding last year) so I mixed the elegant looking pompoms with the smurf theme hehehe

The hanging garlands around the chandelier were circle punched papers stitched together using my sewing machine. I'm loving the effect!

But the center of attraction was the Smurf topsy turvy cake by my friend Jinky! Finally she's back to baking! See more of her creations at her blog the Sweet Lyf This cake was baked with sooo much love! Can't imagine how difficult it is to create such a master piece. All 3 layers were made with real cakes, top layer was strawberry cream cheese, mid layer was a mix of white and brown chocolate, and the base was chocolate. The mushroom and all smurfs except Vanity (on top) were handcrafted using fondant.

The cupcakes were also oh so yummy, tastes like Whammos! I printed the smurf head image and punched with circle punch accented with small prima flowers to make as cake toppers. The flower sprinkles were made from fondant, my first time to play with fondant and oh boy it wasn't easy!

The favors were small containers filled with vanilla and blue berry jelly beans, topped again with smurf head image.

We also added table accents using plastic wine glasses filled with blue and silver kisses. I initially planned to add in smurf sayings on each kisses similar to the concept of fortune kisses but time was not on my side LOL.

The banner was also handmade using blue plastic plates and hand-cut letters.

I also made a DIY photo booth, using blue fabric lined with white crepe papers.

I sew smurf hats adapting the concept from this link. I added a flower for Vanity hat, used red felt for Papa Smurf and added a blonde curly wig for Smurfette. I scored additional props from Daiso, like the mirror for Vanity and the spectacles for Brainy Smurf! Here are the sample photos we took the night before the party heehee

The guests also had fun with the photo booth! Who says playing dress-up is only for kids...here are some of the fun photo booth takes at the party!

Display nook

I just hopped to Elsie's blog and read about Rachel's post on displaying photos. I would like to share something similar which I did inside my room
I mentioned about creating a display corner for my LOs and was actually planning to install a rod where I would hang my favorite and recent ones.
But a trip to Daiso changed my plan when I saw these pants hanger. It works like a clamp without the bulky clips, and I like it.

I used ordinary page protectors and joined 3 pieces together using binding rings and clip-ons. Also from Daiso.

I'm a bit busy preparing for decorations for my friend's bday party this coming Saturday. I have so many things in mind but just scouting for (cheap) materials is giving me a problem. How I wish I can shop around without thinking about the budget.

I was able to make an LO last weekend, coming up on my next post.

How could I miss somebody like her? Blame it on my long hiatus. I was happy to get to know Amy Tangerine through our mini-crop (spoof of Amazing Race) hosted by my very dear friend, mareng s.

The papers are just sooooo yummy! you know I'm a big fan of bright cheery colors!
What's more exciting is our project for the day was a mini album cum slumbook... all materials provided and prepared by mareng s!

We were each provided with a sketch for the album cover and here are our takes.

Sad part is, in less than a month's time mareng s will soar to a new horizon. I will definitely miss her, our chats and our endless pursuit to revive scrappersatsg.

Photo wall

I saw a sample photo wall in Ikea while my housemates and I are looking out for nice-to-haves for our new home. It's a mix of 20 or more colored photo frames but instead of photos, colorful fabrics were slipped inside the frames. The frames are quite cheap so it's a wall art that is so worth the bucks.
I was thinking of copying the same concept but using patterned paper instead of fabric. My housemate stopped me from buying and told me he has a few of those frames which I can use instead.
After some brainstorming, the photos won over! as what I expected LOL

Few pieces were already worn out so I opted to just use 4 with our 4R photos.

I was lucky enough to find matching cardstock to mat my photos and so I just added our chipboard monograms layered with chipboard tags. Project done!
My next project is a shadow frame with a little twist. Goodluck to me!

Warming up

We just celebrated our housewarming over the weekend with our close friends. It was tiring but a fun gathering. Due to time constraint I wasn't able to prepare favors or souvenirs for the event. My housemate baked yummy cupcakes and brownies so I just made some toppers.

The Love, Elsie stamp is just perfect for our theme!

Here are the altered door signs for my housemates, mine is still in progress. I told them I don't scrap often as I used to but I guess my mojo was pushed due to their persistent persuasion to finish my "assignments". ;)

I have new "to dos" like the altered shadow box frame and some more photo frames to decorate our walls. Told them we're running out of walls and hopefully they don't intend to hang something on the ceiling LOL.

Faux ticket

As promised here's my tutorial in making a faux ticket using the Autumn Leave stamps

The materials: cardstock, AL stamp set, inkpad, trimmer with perforator adaptor & hole puncher

Stamp the ticket image in one line with spaces in between.

Trim the stamped image to form a strip

Perforate across each ticket image

punch half a hole on the center of each perforated line

And you're now ready to embellish with your faux tickets, use them as borders or design elements!

Can't remember the paper I used but I was so happy to find an old Chatterbox transparency sticker for my monogram.
Made me think, what ever happened to Chatterbox? I used to love their unique textured papers that comes in coordinated sets.
Next on my list are the signage for our bedroom doors...

Pink clock

One of my housemates has a pink motif to her bedroom, so I altered this Ikea clock to suit her room.

I'm loving that pink Making Memories acrylic paint, and I think the paper she chose matched the paint =)

Yep it's final I'm moving to a new place, can't get enough of the move LOL ... Well that is the life of working overseas, always been tagged as an NPA (No Permanent Address) hehehe
After all my endless purging of stash, I was shocked that my scrappy supplies still filled up 7 big boxes! Oh men! And of course I labeled one of the boxes as FRAGILE. Can you guess what's inside that box? My Martha punches and other tools! ;)

It's my first time to join the Once Upon a Sketch challenge, finally I was able to scrap about myself again.
So yes it's another melodrama journalling ;-)
This year 2011 is a year of changes, scary changes where I took a one big leap out of my comfort zone, a year of letting go, a time to focus and embrace the challenges ahead.

I had fun putting up all the embellishments from my stash. I did some stamping and applied crackle paint on my title.

The cage was stamped on a transparency, and yes I'm loving my Martha punches!

Butterfly parade part 2

Flower power

This tutorial has been long overdue, I'm supposed to post this last year and somehow forgot about it. I was cleaning up my files and saw these photos in a folder so why not post it anyway?
For sure you've seen tutorials on this, so just bear with me, at least I got to update my blog LOL

The tools: crimping tool, scissors, precision file tool or a stick, glue dots, inkpad

cut out the pieces: a flower, circle shape (one is enough), leaves, everything here was cut freehand no need to cut perfectly =)

Curt around the circle shape using decorative scissors or plain scissors (I showed 2 circles to show the different effect with a decorative scissors), ink the edges to add definition to the rose

Loop the circle around the stick until you reach the center of the circle

Add a glue dot to secure the paper rose, set aside

curl the ends of the flower shape using a precision tool or a stick

Attach the paper rose to the curled flower using glue dots

You now have a paper rose!

crimp the leaves to add texture, alternatively you can just score if you don't have a crimping tool

Assemble the pieces together, tadah!

A lovely embellishment to your scrappy projects!

Lizzy lovin'

I've been keeping my Dear Lizzy adhesive back fabric papers for quite some time now. Finally it was put to good and cute use =)

The original lunchbox is a tin casing from K&Co. Let's take a peek of what's inside...

My zutter bound mini guest book for the baby shower with the coordinated cover! Yummy fabric goodness!
(I've kept a few more scraps of this for future minis)

But of course as a final touch, danglers! If you've been following my blog you would know that I love danglers in my minis =)
(The sides of the lunchbox was also covered with Lizzy)

of pinwheels and lollies

It took me quite a while to decide on the baby shower banner. I initially thought of the diaper as my theme. I saw some samples of real nappies used as banners but I thought of the difficulty putting it up on display... and I'm not confident I can make it cute enough LOL

I want my banner to be at least a bit different from the traditional banners and I want it to be 3D. So instead of the traditional horizontal banners, I made it vertical. I used the pinwheels to make it 3D! The kids and I had fun making the pinwheels. It was a perfect windy day at that time so I made lots and lots of them in different colors! (you can search in you tube how to make these pinwheels using pipe cleaners)

The souvenir samples on the web are overwhelming, but these washcloth lollipops made it on top of my list for practicality, availability, and cuteness :) (and did I mention it's cheap?)

I used safety pins to secure my rolled washcloths, punched out the thank you notes attached to the sticks and then put them all in the the gift bags and tied them up. Fun and easy!

Most of my supplies (except washcloths) are bought from Daiso, don't you just love Daiso!

Diaper Invitation

There are plenty of templates out there, but this particular template caught my attention. It's simple and worked on what I had in mind.

Instead of using slits as closure I opted to punch holes on each flaps, attached eyelets and tied a ribbon. If I have enough time I would have created a lining to place the wordings.
I stamped baby-themed images in front and back to decorate the plain cardstock.

Yellow Baby Shower

It was a fun-filled and sumptuous baby shower cum birthday party yesterday!
It's the mommy-to-be's birthday celebration and we surprised her by doing the baby shower on the same day!

She's having a girl and instead of the traditional pink color, I opted to use yellow! And since her favorite is orange I added in a dash of orange to the theme. It was a challenge for me since it's difficult to find yellow accessories/toys or baby things.
I enjoyed doing the diaper cake, it's my first try and i think it turned out fine :)

Immobile

Go this throat infection that started last week, am on antibiotics right now but the swelling and the pain doesn't seem to go away. Just being immobile stresses me out!
Anyway, I have to rush on a crafty project that I can only share next month. Finally done today with the first one and I have more craftiness coming up!
Meanwhile here's the other LO I mentioned on my last post.
This is my entry for Scrap-It-Lah, a challenge hosted by Iris Uy! She's my all time favorite scrapper, never fails to mesmerize me.

Our Love

Part of the challenge is to include stamping, one of my fave stamp is this bird bath that mareng S gave me. Embossing, all the letters and the heart shape are raw chipboards that I heat embossed with Antique gold powder by Ranger. The heart is dressed up with a flower and a gem. And of course misting! I used Jazz Blue from TA using a Prima mask. The sentiment stamp is from Unity which I also heat embossed.

Well hello there!

It has been a month of hiatus coz life do sometimes get in the way LOL
I've been carried away visiting our printing lab, due to my new found love... Picasa. I've given up printing my own photos using my printer which after more than 2yrs of service conked out on me. I think it's practical for me now since I don't scrap often.
So enough of the blah blah, here's one of my latest creations, yep I did two today! These LOs are long overdue, I've promised my friend to do this for her a long time ago.

into my Heart

Since I've stopped buying alphas, I rummaged through my stash to spell out the "HEART", peeled off the top layer and then painted them. It's liberating to use up my old stash! I also used some crackle paint on the dusty attic flourish chip and then found out that my bottle of green crackle paint dried up completely *sigh*

Just reminiscing

I really look like my Dad but somehow as days gone by (and after gaining weight LOL) I started to resemble my Mama. But in my younger years and my mother's, I realized we really had a resemblance, and these photos can prove that.

The left photo is my mother in her early 20s while on the right is my photo when I graduated in highschool. This is my take for Ed's sketch challenge for July (flipped the sketch)

Misting using chalkboard mist and prima stencil, stamped the background with stampers anonymous, the sentiment stamp is from Unity,used some rubons and the tag can be taken out where I can write my journaling.

I just had some photos printed, but again I'm struggling to make time for scrapping. Hopefully I can create a few more before the month ends.

I know I've been purging, so it would be a crime if I stock on these goodies. So it's a good thing my LSS is sooo far away from me now LOL

Two in a row

I'm having trouble sleeping lately. Sad thing is I have to wake up early to attend to my errands. By the time I'm home my eyes just refused to close even though I feel tired. Can't even take a nap *sigh* So might as well sneak in some scrappy time! *after finishing these 2 LOS I was able to take a nap for 30 mins, yey!*

I finally finished this part 2 of Iza's birthday LO, here's a link to the first one I did last month that I entered in the exhibit. I did try to make the LOs identical. What I did last night

I'm a bit unwell yesterday so I head home straight from office. I can't stand being immobile so I decided to get crafty! Yey again!
Here's a card I will give to a friend. It was her birthday last Tuesday, better late than never LOL
This is my entry for Moxie Fab's Tuesday trigger.

I was inspired by the beautiful vase, can't find any on my stash of stamps (surprisingly hehehe) so I used this bucket of flowers stamp from Daisy D? not sure
I always love to create unconventional cards, so I decided to make use of the tag like a peekaboo! The lovely sentiment is from Unity and those artsy flower/deco stamp is from Love, Elsie. I'm really loving my Versafine ink, a good stamp and a good ink equals a happy stamper! :)))

So the mojo was kicking or rather I hate cleaning up my mess after just one mere card so I did a page before the clean-up.

Jollibee and friends

I'm failing in my time management. I've been attending work courses and I'm beating deadlines to make up for the lost times. I'm squeezing a bit of exercise time as well and I really can't give up my k-dramas too. Add the on-going *unending* spring/summer cleaning of my room. *sigh* (My SALES page is updated please share the link and spread the word, thanks!)

My weekends are loaded as well with attending choir and meeting friends. In between there are chores to do like the laundry, ironing, light-cooking and errands here and there.

I really hope I have more time in my hands.

Scrapping is now falling under all these tasks but I'm still glad I can still scrap! A hobby I almost gave up:)

School starts tomorrow! Let's welcome the week with a good cheer!

Teeny weeny album

I was rummaging through my box of photos and found old photos printed in grid. Instead of putting them in a 12x12 layout I decided to create a mini album using my Zutter. Mixing old goodies from my stash and tadah!

I have my eyes set on a film scanner, hopefully I can digitally store all my old photos to preserve memories and maybe post a few on my Facebook LOL

It was a tiring week for me and this Saturday was like a restless day for me. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

I was cleaning up my room and just realized how dusty my Xbox was, the Kinect hype has gone down on me so it's now collecting dust in the dark corner of my room. I figure why not create a cover just like what I did with my sewing machine. After a few sneezes I pulled out the dusty cover off my sewing machine and made a quick replica in less than 5 minutes!
And I got distracted with all the felt cloths I have in my drawers so I sewed an iPhone cozy, simpler but a bit edgy than my first one ;)

I was stressed out doing this page, not exactly how I planned it. Since the deadline was too tight I have no choice but to submit this as my entry for "K"rafer's Paradise.
I could have centered the photos, both vertically and horizontally so to make it work I just added stamping and paper cut-outs to fill in the empty spaces. Almost all materials here are from KCK, except for the AC thickers, Prima flowers and the stamps/puncher that I used.

I just realized that my recent LOs have clouds, and yes it almost landed in this LO as well. So to break the cloud addiction I just scattered stickers all over and opted to make a long title.

With a few papers I have on hand, I still can make it through years of scrapping! But that didn't stop me for buying a few new ones! yey!
It's still OK to splurge a little and I can proudly say I'm a smart shopper now, well that is in terms of scrappy supplies... shoes and bags are OT. LOL

The desire is there but I just can't push myself to scrap and then a new mail arrives. Bebang invited us for a crop session yipeeee! Thanks soooo much Bebang for accomodating us in your lovely home! Apart from her collection of lovely projects, her scraproom cum playroom for her sweeties is a great inspiration. Overall it was a fun and very prolific scrap marathon with CJ and Bebang!

I've been bloghopping now and then to see the latest trends and styles in scrapbooking. The use of mediums like paints, mists and inks are still very in and no drastic changes in paper designs. Prima is still prima, lovely as ever but can't seem to find something really new.
I was at MWL last night and too bad (or good) I forgot my membership card so I didn't purchase anything. Have I really lost interest in buying scrappy stuff? But I have a few essentials I would want to buy the next time I drop by.

Spring Cleaning

I'd like to thank Susie for purchasing more than half of my old papers. To be honest I thought hard in letting go of my precious papers, even to the last minute that I was packing them.
After dividing most of my stuff to "Sell", "Throw", "Keep" and "Undecided" categories, I have successfully cleared one big box of my scrappy stuff.
If you are from Singapore or has friends in Singapore, please take a look at my Sale page, I'll be adding more items soon!

I think I just need a little push to continue this hobby. I'm definitely losing interest until someone asked me to create wedding pages. Whoaaa, that's a big push alright. I eventually agreed and to warm up my scrapping skills ( if there are still any left LOL), I created a frame LO for a newborn baby. Yey for me!!! I will be sharing that project soon.

The schedule is a bit tight as they need it before Wednesday. Though I didn't manage to complete the wedding pages (apparently for framing), I was able to put a few pieces together and planned what I intend to do with the photos. I was asked to make 2 but I think I'll be able to pull-off 4 pages. Told yah it was a big push. *wink* I'm excited to get home soon so I can finish all 4 pages tonight!

On a side note...
Elsie is getting married again! Hopefully Jeremy is the one for her. All the best to you Miss Elsie! I liked the concept of their wedding invitation, clearly speaks of who they are. Coolness!

For us Catholics, it's the beginning of Holy Week, a time for reflection. A blessed week to all!

Level up...failed?

After a sweet but short trip to my LSS, oh yeah I bought a few but good stuff I hope to use in my upcoming mini-album project. (fingers and toes crossed), I suddenly had this urge to mist!
To my dismay, can't seem to find a few of my TA and Prima stencils, misplaced or thrown not so sure, so I just used my good old favorite TH masks.
I'm rusty as I can be, so this is my second attempt, still not as what I intend it to be, so instead of wasting another cardstock I gave this page a GO.

Sometimes we reach that crossroad and we just have to decide eventually, I still have more than 4 years to think hard enough of what exactly what I intend to be in the future.

New layouts!
I was in the scrap mode last night so I finished two pages, yey! Although my printer is conking out on me, I still scrapped the photos even though they are a bit blurry.
I want to finish an album for my brother to scrap their trip here in Singapore, so you would see more of their photos in the coming posts.

Finally after more than 3 months of scrapless nights, here's my first LO for 2011!!! *hopefully not the last one*

These cuties are the daughters of our church choir leaders, they are cousins, so pretty and adorable!
I guess organizing my stash for my MEGA Sale have triggered my mojo to scrap.

Taking an indefinite leave of absence

Ironically I was invited to teach kids the basics of scrapbooking this Saturday for a scrapbook kiddie party, it has long been scheduled so no backing out on that one :)

Life sometimes give you lemons, so I'm learning how to make a sweet lemonade LOL

Such a great song to end the holy mass.

I was a bit early for the 6PM anticipated mass so I decided to seat behind the choir's designated seats. Some of my friends were not able to attend so there are empty seats. To my surprise I was asked to seat in front so I got no choice but to sing (or lip sync). No matter how distracting it may seem, I still felt peace in my heart which rarely happens even if I do my prayers at night. I guess there's the feeling of being safe inside the church, the closeness I can get to Him and singing the song of praises somehow lifts up my downhearted spirit.

Let us see your face;

Hello December!

I was awaken by the noise at the other room, seems the kids woke up early so I got no choice but to eventually get up and start my very first day of the last month of the year. It was another big *sigh* for me when I eventually arrived at the office. Not just the gloomy weather but all the chaos at the office in addition to my personal battle that is giving me a hard time to get up and seize the day. Just want to share one of two pages I did last Monday night. Mojo was in, so I managed to complete 2 pages in one and a half hour, that's fast for me considering I drizzled paint, splatted mists and stamped on this LO.
I flipped the sketch of Kristy Dalman for Design Dollies Sketch challenge.

Purging my supplies

It was one of our LSS birthday and there was a whooping 40% storewide discount for scrappaholic for life members. It was a struggle over the weekend if I would drop by the shop or not, but I managed to keep my eyes closed and bit my lips so hard and decided not to pass by the shop. *whew*
I have a teeny weeny regret though, I really wanted to buy a few mists *sigh*
Anyway I've been purging my supplies every now and then and here's a page I did using scraps and old supplies.

So have you started your Christmas list? Part of my crafty self would like to go the handmade/homemade path in gift giving, but how about those who are really not into crafts? Would they appreciate it?

As always calendars are my top of the list, not sure if I can still create similar to what I did years ago but would love to try a new type of calendar using a CD case.

Wedding jitters

Nope it's not me getting married, it's my dear friends come Saturday! But being in-charge of the reception from decor to the program and yes being the emcee makes me giddy. I want it to be near perfect for them, so please say a little prayer for all of us, the couples Dexter and Leslie, their families, the DGC angels and all our close friends who are in full force in this major event.
I personally like this kind of wedding, may it be simple or extravagant, where all families and friends help out and contribute from the planning, preparation and on the day itself.
The main theme of our program is to have "fun", we want everyone to celebrate, hang loose, have a good time and leave with smiles on their faces.
Your're still with me? yes you're still reading the same blog LOL, ok now here's some sneaks of one of my to-dos in my wedding decor checklist.
I was tasked to create a wedding easel as part of the decor, I chose to make it different from the traditional ones so I ended up creating a huge LO. Took me almost a day to finish, and my scrappalific conscience pushed me to used 12x12 cs instead of using an ordinary cartolina! LOL. Yes, I want it to be acid free! I tried my best to hide the joint lines so I chose white cs. I will share the full image after the wedding, meanwhile here are the sneakies.
